I’m Chad Lewison. I started the Dental Implant Group 20 years ago. I grew up in rural South Dakota. I went from a farm boy to journeyman lineman/electrician at the rural electric. I went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Creighton University School of Dentistry in Omaha. I have focused my entire dental career on dental implants and received the highest attainable credentials in implant dentistry in the United States: Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (DABOI/ID).
We were the first, in the country, to provide in-dental office 3-dimensional imaging. I have maintained an implant-only office 10,000+ implants later. When I say “implant-only”, I mean everything that revolves around making a decision to replace a lost tooth, a problem tooth, or multiple teeth. This includes: Free three-dimensional workup/consult, Treatment Planning, Extractions, all Bone Grafting, Final Prosthetics (Teeth or Dentures), and sedation, if desired, for surgery. We have offered sedation for the last 20+ years. We offer the level of sedation you desire. Sedation levels range from “no sedation” to “yes I would like some” to “knock me out”.
I have overseen dental implant surgeries at Creighton University School of Dentistry since 2008 and continue to teach there. I have taught hundreds of dentists implant surgery from all over the United States. We continue to provide in-house continuing education for dentists who come from all over the nation. I have some of my recent students, who are now dentists in Sioux Falls, that have trained in our office.

Dr. Evan Augustyn or Dr. “Augie”, as most patients know him, is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska. Dr. Augie spent his whole life in the state of Nebraska until moving up to South Dakota right after dental school. Growing up, Dr. Augie spent a lot of his time playing sports year-round and primarily focused on wrestling. He ultimately had to retire from sports after high school due to multiple knee surgeries. After high school, he went to undergraduate at the University of Nebraska-Kearney to study Chemistry with a pre-dental emphasis. During that time, he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon where he held executive positions and later on became a chapter advisor after becoming an early alumni. Additionally, he was part of a chemistry research group whose main focus was Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Augustyn graduated early from undergrad and went on to attend Creighton University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Augie worked in private practice for several years, practicing general dentistry, before joining our practice at the Dental Implant Group. In addition to typical general dentistry procedures, he also performs implant dentistry, including single-tooth, multiple-tooth, and full-mouth rehabilitations. Alongside being a member of the South Dakota Dental Association, he is an active member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID). He has spent a lot of time attending continuing education events over the years with the primary focus around implant dentistry. Dr. Augustyn intends on going through future credentialing within the AAID to attain similar training and credentialing to that of Dr. Lewison’s.
Growing up in the state of Nebraska and having a parent that works for the university, Dr. Augie is a lifelong Husker fan. He primarily follows football, volleyball, and wrestling. Additionally, Dr. Augie enjoys working out, going on bike trails when it’s nice out, fishing, and working on projects around his house. He is also a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Sioux Falls.
